I produced, shot and edited this short piece for HuffPost UK over a number of weeks. The constant possibility that the draft of the Domestic Abuse Bill would be released meant the project was often on hold.
On January 21st, the draft bill was published. In order to keep the piece relevant beyond that day, I went back to interview the Surviving Economic Abuse founder that morning to get her reaction and the piece was published the next day.
I had never heard of economic abuse prior to being involved in this project. Speaking to these women was eye-opening and heartbreaking. Knowing their abusers went unpunished was nothing short of maddening.
